We use this list to send you details about our annual festival (this includes information about how to participate, or put a show into the festival, as well as just about what to see) We email an average of once a month, except in the run-up to the festival when there's more to say in news and more recommendations. We occasionally include information about other events which we think you might find interesting, but we do not and will never share our list with other organisations, allow others to analyse data, sell names, etc. We ask for a postcode because it helps us to know where audiences come from, and it's possible that some information may be more useful to people in the immediate locality.

You can unsubscribe via the link on every mailing you will get from us (including one you will receive in just a moment to confirm that you're on the list).

20th Century Foxes Presents

Cool Britannia

A Ride Through The Swinging 60s

1960 ushers in a heady new era. Postwar austerity is over and Britain is back on its feet, ready to spring onto the world stage with a look, vibe and sound all its own.
No more would Britain need America for glamour, excitement and music. The new decade brings with it a new, young breed of British artists from all walks of life, who are about to put Britain at the very heart of the Swinging Sixties.

The '60s in Britain is best remembered for the beat groups: The Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Who and many more. But this country was also blazing trails of stardust right across the music scene: in film with John Barry and his iconic Bond music; musical theatre with Lionel Bart (Oliver!) and Newley/Bricusse (Feeling Good, Goldfinger); and through the charts from rock n roll (Johnny Kidd, Cliff and the Shadows, Billy Fury, Adam Faith et al); easy listening with Matt Monro, through the beat groups (Hollies, Small Faces, Animals) psychedelia and into the heavier rock sounds like Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac.

Join us to relive it all, as the 20th Century Foxes swing you through the length and breadth of the sounds of the Sixties. Expect some well-known classics as well as half-forgotten treasures.
The Foxes are a popular, versatile vintage band, combining virtuoso musicians with engaging entertainment hosted by acclaimed singer, showman and raconteur Gavin Lazarus, who will guide us through the golden age of British music for an unforgettable evening.
