We use this list to send you details about our annual festival (this includes information about how to participate, or put a show into the festival, as well as just about what to see) We email an average of once a month, except in the run-up to the festival when there's more to say in news and more recommendations. We occasionally include information about other events which we think you might find interesting, but we do not and will never share our list with other organisations, allow others to analyse data, sell names, etc. We ask for a postcode because it helps us to know where audiences come from, and it's possible that some information may be more useful to people in the immediate locality.

You can unsubscribe via the link on every mailing you will get from us (including one you will receive in just a moment to confirm that you're on the list).

Friendly Ever After

with Maria de Jesus Rocha and Bianca Bertalot

"Such an imaginative show! The children were totally absorbed and laughed throughout." The theme of friendship was very useful to trigger conversations about the play in the classroom at Stoke Park Primary School, Bristol.
A touching story of two young clowns trying to find true friendship. When fate unites them, they realise that cultivating a new friendship is not an easy job, particularly at this early stage of their lives. They discover together the beauty of friendship and the need to respect, help and understand one's friend.
Between the many jokes, arguments, disputes and amusing moments, they discover, with the help of the young audience that friendship can be deeper and more rewarding if they simply start to act with genuine kindness, tolerance and empathy with one another.
Friendly Ever After is an examination of childhood friendships and a portrayal of children's early social experiences. It has been developed and produced for 5 to 11 year old children by Maria and Joao, children's educational professionals, who are also the actors in this play. Friendly Ever After was successfully presented at numerous schools in Lisbon and Madeira over the past 7 years and is now visiting schools in the South West of England. The show has been fully developed using professional theatre clown techniques which uses physical rather than verbal language. This stimulates the children's creativity and imagination and makes them consciously aware of their own social experiences.
