We use this list to send you details about our annual festival (this includes information about how to participate, or put a show into the festival, as well as just about what to see) We email an average of once a month, except in the run-up to the festival when there's more to say in news and more recommendations. We occasionally include information about other events which we think you might find interesting, but we do not and will never share our list with other organisations, allow others to analyse data, sell names, etc. We ask for a postcode because it helps us to know where audiences come from, and it's possible that some information may be more useful to people in the immediate locality.

You can unsubscribe via the link on every mailing you will get from us (including one you will receive in just a moment to confirm that you're on the list).

Kilter Theatre & University of Bath present

The Cubicle

A theatrical space to ponder & play with cutting-edge research on body image.

You've got a perfect body. Yes, you! Your eye-lashes catch your sweat; you gag when you swallow a fish-bone; you laugh when you get tickled. Step inside The Cubicle Cafe - a space where you're perfect just the way you are.
Developed in collaboration with University of Bath Body Image Researchers, The Cubicle hosts a programme of approaches to build resilience to marketed ideals of "the perfect body". It doesn't matter if you're tall, short, bulging, skinny, hairy, bald, fresh-faced or wrinkly - you can still enjoy all your body has to offer! Sing! Stretch! Dance! Laugh! Dream! Breathe!...

At the heart of the pop-up shop is a private walk-in Changing Cubicle as you would find at the back of any High Street Clothes Shop. However, this is a cubicle with a difference: the site of a short compelling participatory performance starring hiccups, toe-nails, goosebumps & hairy armpits.
Kilter have a long-standing reputation as theatrical pioneers in Bath, working with a range of communities & partners to deliver life-affirming, provocative performances. With artwork by Hollie-Ann Hart. Kilter are Winners of a Bath Life Award 2018!

Dr Melissa Atkinson, lead Body Image Researcher at the University of Bath, studies & develops world-leading community resilience programmes aimed to change the focus from Body Aesthetic to Body Functionality.
Watch this space for more details about guest speakers, artists & practitioners...

The Cubicle is part of a year-long collaboration supported by the Public Engagement Unit at University of Bath.
