Developed in collaboration with University of Bath Body Image Researchers, The Cubicle hosts a programme of approaches to build resilience to marketed ideals of "the perfect body". It doesn't matter if you're tall, short, bulging, skinny, hairy, bald, fresh-faced or wrinkly - you can still enjoy all your body has to offer! Sing! Stretch! Dance! Laugh! Dream! Breathe!...
At the heart of the pop-up shop is a private walk-in Changing Cubicle as you would find at the back of any High Street Clothes Shop. However, this is a cubicle with a difference: the site of a short compelling participatory performance starring hiccups, toe-nails, goosebumps & hairy armpits.
Kilter have a long-standing reputation as theatrical pioneers in Bath, working with a range of communities & partners to deliver life-affirming, provocative performances. With artwork by Hollie-Ann Hart. Kilter are Winners of a Bath Life Award 2018!
Dr Melissa Atkinson, lead Body Image Researcher at the University of Bath, studies & develops world-leading community resilience programmes aimed to change the focus from Body Aesthetic to Body Functionality.
